Panerai PAM 190 Review

Panerai PAM 190The Panerai PAM 190 is a modern day classic in the Officine Panerai lineup and it has recently been discontinued. Due to the fact that there have only been 2,050 PAM190’s made over the years, this is a relatively rare watch that should become much harder to get in the near future.

Panerai’s PAM00190 is a special watch indeed, and it has been crowned as one of the best PAM’s ever by collectors. Housed in a 45mm Radiomir case, the 190 is a great all-around watch that can be dressed up with a suit, or dressed down with a t-shirt and pair of vintage jeans.

An 8 day, hand wound JLC movement is used in the PAM190, and it winds up like butter. It features 13¼ lignes, 33 jewels, Côtes de Geneve decoration, bridge with indication of power reserve, burnished blued screws, balance spring adjusted by micrometer screw, swan-neck regulator, double spring barrel, 28,800 alternations/hour, and of course a power reserve of 8 days.

The clean sandwich dial is accented by gorgeous gold hands and sub seconds displayed at 9 o’clock. Covering the dial is a 1.9mm thick sapphire crystal, treated with an anti-reflective coating. Sapphire crystal is also used for the display back, revealing the gorgeous Jaeger-LeCoultre movement.

The Panerai 190 is water resistant to 100 meters and features a gorgeous black alligator strap.
