You’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who won’t readily admit that the Franck Muller Master Banker Tourbillon (7880 MB T) is one drop-dead gorgeous timepiece. It is available in either Platinum 950 or 18 carat gold and supplied with a beautiful hand sewn alligator strap.
The Master Banker Tourbillon displays up three different time zones, all adjustable using the same crown. Franck Muller accomplished this wonderfully, while still maintaining a very readable face.
As for the tourbillon, it is actually suspended at the same level as the dial. While traditional tourbillon watches need to be guided by a bar seen on the dial, the Imperial Tourbillon doesn’t. It stands on a single pivot which is connected to a movement bar.
The manually-wound tourbillon movement measures 25.00 x 30.00 mm with a height of 7.30 mm. It has a power reserve of 60 hours and is made up of 294 different components. Additional highlights of the movement include:
- 18,000 vibrations/hour
- 29 jewels
- A Cotes de Genéve, circular graining, hand chamfered decorated movement
The gorgeous sun-stamped, translucent lacquered dial displays central hours and minutes, two time zones (at 3 and 9 o’clock), and a day/night display.
