Panerai PAM 299

The Panerai PAM 299 is housed in a 44mm stainless steel Luminor case and features a stainless steel bracelet. The watch is water resistant to 300 meters.

The PAM299 features Panerai’s automatic OP III calibre movement with 13¼ lignes, 21 jewels. Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges, PANERAI personalised oscillating weight, Glucydur balance, and 28,800 alternations per hour. The watch also comes with a chronometer certificate (C.O.S.C.) and a 42 hour power reserve.

The Panerai 299’s black dial displays the hours, minutes, small seconds and date and it is covered by a 3.5mm thick sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating.

New for 2008, the Panerai PAM 297 GMT is a regular production piece housed in a 44mm AISI 316L brushed steel case. The new bracelet design is integrated with the case.

The Panerai 297 features an automatic Panerai OP VIII calibre movement which has 13¼ lignes, 21 jewels, Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges, Glucydur balance, 28,800 alternations/hour, Incabloc anti-shock device, Chronometer Certificate (C.O.S.C.), and a 42 hour power reserve. The functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and second time zone.

The PAM00297 has a solid caseback and a sapphire crystal over the dial. It is water resistant to 300 meters.

The Panerai PAM 307 was unveiled at SIHH this year as a special edition watch from OP’s 2008 lineup. There will be 500 pieces released and the watch is housed in a 47mm titanium case. It features a brushed steel push button at 10 o’clock which control the depth gauge functions.

The Panerai 307 has an automatic Panerai OP XV calibre movement with 13¼ lignes, 21 jewels, Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges, Glucydur balance, 28,800 alternations/hour, Incabloc anti-shock device, Chronometer Certificate (C.O.S.C.), 42 hour power reserve, and a depth-gauge electronic module with METAS individual certificate.

The PAM00307 functions include hours, minutes, and small seconds. The watch also features the following depth gauge functions:

  • Indication of maximum depth reached during the most recent dive
  • Indication of the amount of battery power left
  • Depth indication during a dive

The PAM307’s bezel is brushed steel and rotates anti-clockwise. It features a graduated scale for measuring the duration of immersion and ratchet click at minute intervals.

The screw caseback is made of titanium and features the logo of the Pangaea expedition engraved. The blue dial is protected by a 3mm thick sapphire crystal which has been treated with an anti-reflective coating.

The Panerai PAM 307 is water resistant to 120 meters and comes with both rubber and leather straps, as well as a tool to change the strap and a steel screwdriver.

The Panerai PAM 308 special edition watch from OP’s 2008 collection is housed in a 44mm AISI 316L brushed stainless steel case with a brushed steel bezel. The PAM308 bezel features polished edges and tachymeter scale. There will be a total of 500 pieces made.

Panerai chose a hand wound OP XXVI calibre movement for the PAM00308, featuring:

  • 13 ¼ lignes
  • 24 jewels
  • Monometallic Glucydur balance
  • 28,800 alternations/hour
  • Power reserve of 46 hours
  • Incabloc anti-shock device
  • Chronometer Certificate (C.O.S.C.).

The black hobnail dial displays hours, minutes, small seconds, a chronograph with two counters, and tachymeter scale. It is covered by a 2.55mm thick sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and the solid caseback is polished steel with “Classic Yachts Challenge 2008″ engraved.

The Panerai 308 is water resistant to 100 meters and comes with two straps in rubber and leather.

Perhaps one of the most well-received watches in the OP SIHH 2008 lineup is the Panerai PAM 26. The PAM00026 is a special edition watch housed in a 44mm steel Luminor case with a special hard black DLC coating. There will be a total of 1,000 Panerai 26’s released.

The PAM26 features a hand-wound Panerai OP II calibre movement with 16 ½ lignes, 17 jewels, monometallic Glucydur balance, 21,600 alternations/hour, Incabloc anti-shock device, and a 56 hour power reserve. The functions include hours, minutes, and small seconds at 3 o’clock.

The Panerai 26 limited edition has a solid, brushed steel caseback and sapphire crystal covering the dial. The watch is water resistant to 300 meters and comes on a black leather strap.
