Breitling Navitimer World

Breitling Navitimer World

The Breitling Navitimer World is offered in 5 different versions and is housed in a 46mm case. The case is 15.5mm thick and the watch is water resistant to 3 bars.

Breitling used their automatic caliber 24 movement in the Navitimer World. The 25 jewel movement produces 28,800 alternations per hour and has a 42 hour power reserve.

The watch has a bidirectional bezel and a sapphire crystal glass.

A good looking watch, but a shame that Breitling still insist on rebadging a standard Valjoux movement (as seen in Tag, Omega, Bell & Ross, Hublot etc… etc…). The case is far bigger than the movement requires (unlike IWC’s Portuguese and Big Pilot watches) - as you can tell from the positioning of the date window some distance from the bezel.

I recently purchased a mint-used Navitimer World. I’ve had numerous problems with the watch staying wound, even though it’s been sitting on a winder. It’s almost only going to wind if I ’shake’ it back and forth. I know its authentic, as I’ve taken it to Tourneau (#1 luxury watch distributor in USA) But I am concerned about the movement on this watch and having to constantly manually wind it even though its sitting on a winder.
