Rolex Daytona Review

Rolex Daytona

The Rolex Daytona is arguably one of the most desirable watches in the modern day Rolex lineup. It is housed in a 40mm case and available in a variety of styles, including yellow gold, stainless steel, white gold, with a oysterlock bracelet or strap.

The Daytona is idea for measuring elapsed time and calculating average speed. It has a sweet second hand, minute and hour totalisators, and a graduated tachometer bezel.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona uses a self-winding movement and is waterproof to 330 feet.

Rolex Milgauss Review

Rolex Milgauss

The Rolex Milgauss is a 40mm stainless steel model that comes in 3 varieties. White dial, black dial, and black dial with green sapphire crystal.

The Milgauss is resistant to a magnetic flux density of 1,000 gauss, which means that this Rolex watch will continue to be a precision timepiece even in highly magnetic environments.

The Rolex Milgauss is self-winding and waterproof to 330 feet.

Breitling Navitimer Review

Breitling NavitimerThe Breitling Navitimer is available in several different versions, including stainless steel, steel and gold, 18 ct yellow gold, red gold, and white gold. The watch case measures 41.8mm with a thickness of 14.6mm.

The Breitling 23 caliber movement was used in the Navitimer, providing 42 hours of power reserve. It is a self-winding, mechanical movement featuring a chronograph, 25 jewels, 28,800 vph, and dial aperture calendar.

The Navitimer is water resistant to 3 bars and features a glareproof, cambered sapphire glass crystal.

Panerai PAM 217 Review

Panerai PAM 217

The Panerai PAM 217 is a special edition watch from the 2005 lineup. The PAM217 is housed in a drop dead gorgeous, brushed stainless steel 47mm 1950’s destro (lefty) case. There were 1,000 217’s created by Panerai (plus a few OOR’s or “Out of Range” watches).

The Panerai 217 has affectionately been dubbed “Fiddestro” by Paneristi, due to the fact that it is a close relative of the 127, or “Fiddy”.

The PAM00217 is water resistant to 100 meters and features a Panerai OP XI calibre movement with swan’s neck regulator. The movement is mechanical and hand-wound with:

  • 16½ lignes
  • 17 jewels
  • Côtes de Genève decoration
  • 21,600 alternations/hour
  • Power reserve of 56 hours
  • Chronometer Certificate (C.O.S.C.).

The beautiful black sandwich dial displays minutes, hours, and small seconds at 3 o’clock. Gold hands only add to the visual appeal of the PAM217.

Sapphire crystal is used to cover the dial and for the see-through display back, and the watch comes with a black alligator strap, leather strap, and steel screwdriver.

Panerai PAM 00000 Review

Panerai PAM 00000

The Panerai PAM 00000, or “zero” as it’s affectionately called by Paneristi, is part of Officine Panerai’s historic base lineup. The Panerai Zero sports a 44mm Luminor case in AISI 316L polished steel and a black leather strap.

The PAM00000 is water resistant to 300 meters and features sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating over the dial, and a stainless steel back.

Panerai used their Panerai OP X calibre movement in the Zero. It is a hand wound movement with swan’s neck regulator, 16½ lignes, 17 jewels, Cotes de Genève decoration on the bridges, Nivarox I spring, 21,600 alternations/hour, Incabloc anti-shock device, and Glucydur  balance. It also features a 56 hour power reserve.
