Panerai PAM 64 Review

Panerai PAM 64

Officine Panerai’s PAM 64 (PAM 00064) was a special edition submersible released in 2000. There were 500 PAM64’s created by OP.

The PAM 64 sub is water resistant to 1000 meters and it shipped with a rubber and brushed steel buckle. The watch features a 44mm ISI 316L brushed steel case with a special helium valve placed on the left side. The brushed steel unidirectional bezel has a graduated scale for calculating time of immersion and the ratcheting action clicks at minute intervals. The PAM64 also features a solid steel caseback. Steel colour small seconds dial at 9 o’clock. Date at 3 o’clock.

The Panerai 64 dial is protected by 5.1mm thick sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating. There is also a magnifying lens over the date at 3 o’clock.

Panerai PAM 46 Review

Panerai PAM 46

The PAM 46 (PAM 00046), a special edition watch of 60 pieces, was released by Panerai in 1999. It is a Radiomir cased GMT/Alarm model on an alligator strap (provided with a white gold buckle).The PAM46 is housed in a 40mm, 18ct solid white gold Rad case. Strap changes are quick and easy thanks to the patented removable wire loop attachments and water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

The PAM 46 SE watch features an automatic, base Girard-Perregaux calibre 59 movement:

  • 13¼ lignes
  • 31 jewels
  • Glucydur balance with Nivarox I spring
  • 28,800 alternations/hour
  • Incabloc anti-shock device
  • 47 hour power reserve
  • Personalized Panerai bridges and oscillating weight

The Panerai 46’s functions include hours, minutes, seconds, date, second time zone, and alarm. The functions are all controlled by two independent 18ct gold winding crowns:

  1. At 2 o’clock: winding, setting the time, second time zone and date
  2. At 4 o’clock: winding and setting the alarm

Sapphire crystal is used to cover both the dial and the see-through display back and a magnifying lens enlarges the date at 3 o’clock.

Panerai PAM 47 Review

Panerai PAM 47

The PAM 47 (PAM 00047) was a special edition watch released by Officine Panerai in 1999. There were only 20 PAM47’s made.The Panerai 47 features a 40mm solid steel Radiomir case which of course has wire loop strap attachments which are easily removable when the time comes for a strap change. Unlike the Luminor case, the Rad doesn’t come with Panerai’s patented crown protection device. Instead, the PAM47 has a steel winding crown with chronograph push pieces on either side.

Both back and front of the watch feature a sapphire crystal and the dial indicators include a minute counter at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock, centre split-seconds hand, and tachymeter scale on the outer area.  The PAM 47 water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

The hand-wound mechanical, base Venus calibre 179 movement features 14 lignes, 26 jewels, 18,000 alternations/hour, and Incabloc anti-shock device, 49 hour power reserve, personalized Panerai bridges, and a C.O.S.C. chronometer certificate is included.

Panerai delivered the PAM 47 with a steel buckle alligator strap.

Panerai PAM 52 Review

Panerai PAM 52

The Panerai PAM 52 (PAM 00052) is a special edition watch released in 1999. There were 500 PAM52’s made.

The Panerai 52 features a 40mm, brushed titanium case that is water resistant to 200 meters, and it comes with the handsome and comfortable Panerai brushed titanium and polished steel bracelet.

The PAM52 has an automatic Panerai OP IV calibre movement and comes with a C.O.S.C. chronometer certificate:

  • 36,000 alternations/hour
  • Kif anti-shock device
  • 50 hour power reserve

The dial displays the hour, minutes, small seconds, a chronograph with three counters reading to 1/10th second, and tachymeter scale. The chronograph functions are controlled by rectangular brushed titanium pushers located on either side of the trademarked Panerai crown protection device.

Sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial and also for the display back.

Panerai PAM 45 Review

The Panerai PAM 45 (PAM 00045) was a special edition released by OP in 1999. There were a total of 100 PAM45’s made.

The PAM 45 features an automatic, Panerai OP V calibre movement.

The Panerai 45 functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, date, chronograph with three counters, and tachymeter scale. The smaller 40mm Luminor case is made of 18ct white gold and features push pieces for the chronograph functions on either side of the crown protection device.

The watch has a sapphire crystal protecting the dial and another serving as the display back. The dial layout includes a minute counter at 3 o’clock, date between 4 and 5 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o’clock, hour counter at 9 o’clock, and a center seconds counter.

The PAM 45 is water resistant to 200 meters and was supplied with a white gold buckle alligator strap by Panerai.
